![]() Congratulations to the class of 2012! FRESNO, CA (Catholic Online) - When the Fresno High Warriors walked off stage, it was the Knights time to shine. Bullard High had rehearsed to achieve perfection on Monday afternoon. The Knights had 59 valedictorians and for a seating marshal, a 6'4", 250 pound tight end. "I'm excited. I can't wait for it to be over. It's kind of sad, though, seeing all my friends. I have like two weeks left and then I'm heading off to college, so it is kind of emotional," graduate Ian Taubler said, who has a football scholarship for UCLA. However, not all of these graduates have a secure future with many kids not even making it to graduation day. Fresno Unified School's graduation rate was very much below the California average at 66% compared to the 74% average in the state. Yet on Monday, the graduates knew they had reached their goal and achieved something grand. "I just want to say 'congratulations to the class of 2012.'" Taubler said. Fresno Unified's other schools will be having their graduations later this week. © 2012, Distributed by NEWS CONSORTIUM. - - - Pope Benedict XVI's Prayer Intentions for January 2013 General Intention: The Faith of Christians.
